Utility Billing Assistance for Garland Residents

If you are having difficulty paying your utility bill, the City of Garland has several options that may benefit you.

You may qualify for a payment arrangement that allows you to extend the due date of your current bill. Customer Service may also be able to evaluate your deposit options. For example, if you have 12 months of satisfactory pay history, you may be able to apply your deposit to your customer account.

If you are concerned that your bill is unusually high and may be incorrect, the City may perform an in-home utility audit to investigate electric and water consumption.

Budget billing is also available for customers with 12 months of billing history, an up-to-date account and a $0 balance. This option averages your monthly utility billing to allow you to easily budget for your bill.

The Provide Aid in Dollars (P.A.I.D.) Program is a voluntary assistance program through which City of Garland utility customers can make contributions to help families pay for their City of Garland utility services. To make a contribution, just look for the P.A.I.D. Program block on your utility bill payment stub. The Salvation Army of Garland qualifies families and determines distribution of funds on a case-by-case basis. To apply for assistance, contact the Salvation Army of Garland at 972-272-4531.

Financial assistance programs are also available at local, county and state levels. Garland Customer Assistance Programs are a partnership between the City and local agencies. For more information, visit GarlandTX.gov/650/Utility-Customer-Programs-Rights

To learn more about any of these options, call 972-205-2671 or email Customer Service.
