Recycle your fats/oils/grease from your kitchen!

Don't let that greasy stuff go down the kitchen sink! Even small amounts can cause plumbing blockages for your pipes as well as the city's sewer system.  

Even hot soapy water won't push that grease very far through the pipes.  

Fats/Oils/Grease (fondly referred to as FOG) can be easily recycled with two convenient drop-off locations in Garland.

Here's how it works:

• After cooking, remove and discard food scraps and any other solids in the trash.
• Once grease has completely cooled, pour it into a covered container, like an empty coffee can, a rigid plastic container or, if it's empty, the original container that it came in. (Empty soda bottles work great).  Be sure the container you use has a lid that fits securely.  No plastic bags please.
• Wipe the residual from the pan with a paper towel and dispose of it in the trash.
• Take the collected FOG to one of the drop-off locations listed below.
• The collected FOG is converted info clean burning fuel by the City of Dallas for their wastewater operations. It's great for us and great for the environment!
