The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible unit within the Police Department. Patrol operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Criminal Investigations Division
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Garland Police Department is responsible for the detection and investigation of criminal offenses, for the collection and examination of evidence, and for the successful prosecution of crimes committed in the City of Garland.

Community Services Division includes units that specialize in taking a proactive role in keeping our City safe.

Communications Unit
The Public Safety Communications Unit is the first point of contact for emergency service requests for police, fire, and EMS.
Community Relations/Public Information Officer
The mission of the Community Relations Officer is to provide an avenue between the Garland Police Department and the diversified communities within the City of Garland.
