Lateral Entry Program
The Garland Police Department has a Lateral Entry Program for experienced peace officers. An experienced peace officer may be eligible to attend an abbreviated academy at the Garland Police Academy and get paid for their experience. If you qualify for the Lateral Program, your salary will correspond with your experience.
