The whole family will learn, play, and grow during this interactive storytime full of stories, creative movement, and songs that will strengthen listening, language, and literacy skills. We will use books, movement activities, songs, rhymes, manipulative, and extensions that promote the growth of the child's literacy, brain, and emotional development. We will also model ways caregivers can interact, engage, and be their child's first teacher.

Preschool Discovery, for kids ages 3-5, will help develop literacy skills in preparation for school. The story times will consist of different themes every week including family, love, holidays, friendship, animals and food, which in turn will highlight our vast youth collection.

Join us at Garland Libraries for free-play time for families to enjoy. A variety of toys, STEAM toys, games, and stations will be available to explore!

The City of Garland Cultural Arts Dept. presents a FREE showing of this 2014 film. A chronicle of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Free parking for all Plaza Theatre events will be available at Garland Central Library.

A special meeting will be held for the City Secretary to hold a drawing for the order that the names will be listed on the ballot for the City's May 6, 2023 general election.
