Before the City of Garland redevelops the property at 1002 Marion Drive, we’re going to meet there at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 24, to celebrate its history.
The site was developed in the mid-1950s as Garland Clinic & Hospital. It provided surgery, lab work, X-ray technology, an emergency room and Garland residents’ first alternative to Dallas hospitals.
In recent decades it has been a multifamily property, the Las Brisas Residence Club.
Join us as we bid farewell and welcome positive change at this location. Attendees will be able to share their memories and provide input, and enjoy tasty treats. All are welcome!
You can also share your memories or photos with the Garland Landmark Museum. Interviews will be conducted at the event or can be submitted by email to Heritage@GarlandTX.gov.
Demolition will happen this month. The City is hiring a consultant to work with residents and the City Council for feedback and to develop plans for the next stage for the 1.67-acre property. So bring us your stories of “what was” on Thursday, March 24, and start thinking about “what could be.”
