[ARCHIVED] 2020 Tree Power Free Tree Giveaway

The Tree Power Free Tree program teams Garland Power & Light with the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department to provide a free tree to Garland residents in an effort to conserve energy and beautify the community.

The event has been modified this year due to the pandemic.

Residents wanting a free tree must register here

Registration: Sept. 15 – Oct. 15
Tree Pickup: Saturday, Nov. 7; Time window and location on the registration confirmation

At the registration site:

  • Tree descriptions are provided.
  • Select the tree you want. One tree per household.
  • Must be a Garland resident. Residence will be verified.

A confirmation email will be sent to you after a successful registration

  • Bring the email with you when picking up the tree.
  • Pickup time window and location will be included.
  • Trucks are recommended for easier tree loading.

Safety Requirements

  • All participants must wear a mask and maintain social distance.
  • Residents will be responsible for loading and securing the tree after it is set near the vehicle.
  • Observe lane markers and other traffic flow instructions.
  • Keep children in the vehicle.
