The following is an update at Garland Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts parks and facilities.
If you choose to go to the park, please plan accordingly and continue to comply with physical distancing guidelines of a minimum of 6 feet from anyone not in your household. In addition, please comply with all City, County, State, and Federal guidelines, which include but are not limited to, wash your hands; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; cover your mouth and nose with elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, and stay home if you feel sick.
Open:
* Parks, Playgrounds, and Trails
-Includes Park Restrooms
* Outdoor Tennis Courts + Audubon Disc Golf Course
- tennis, basketball, volleyball, cricket and others.
* Athletic Game Fields
- Practice and conditioning only, no games.
- Athletic Field Rentals are now available - Visit our Sports Field Reservations webpage for details.
* Park Pavilions
- Rentals begin June 15.
* Recreation Centers open June 8
- 25% capacity limit, including Body Shops.
- Game Rooms and indoor basketball courts will remain closed.
- Body Shop Limitations: Only five people in the Body Shop at one time, guests will be limited to 45-minute workout sessions, and Body Shops will close for 15-minutes each hour allowing staff to disinfect all equipment

* The Atrium at the Granville Performing Arts Center
- Open June 8 - 25% capacity limit (includes 125 dining tables, 175 theater seating)
* Summer Recreation Programs Schedule
- Recreation Programs will begin June 22
- Swim Lessons at Holford Pool - June 22
- Summer Camps (limit groups of 10) - July 6
- Swim Lessons at Wynne Pool - July 6
Closed:
* Game Room and Indoor Basketball Courts at Recreation Centers
* Aquatic Facilities
- No City-owned aquatics facilities will open for general public use (outside of swim lessons) in 2020.
* Granville Performing Arts Center and Plaza Theatre
* Landmark Museum
* Senior Centers
Special Events
Smaller outdoor events will be allowed, per the Governor’s Open Texas Guidelines. Monitor the City’s Special Events calendar and VisitGarlandTX.com for scheduling updates.
Garland and its host partners at Firewheel Town Center decided against an official celebration on July 4.
Reminders:
Senior meals will only be picked up at Garland Activity Center. Any new seniors wishing to participate in the meal program, please call Garland Senior Activity Center, 972-205-2769, 600 W. Avenue A, Garland, TX 75040.
