So far, 80 Garland cases have recovered, meaning at least seven days have passed since symptom onset and the patient has been fever free with respiratory symptom improvement for 72 hours without medication. The City will update our posted case numbers each afternoon after 2 p.m. Check the Dallas County website for county-wide updates.

Dallas County is requiring individuals to wear a covering over the nose and mouth when visiting an essential business or using public transportation (including taxis or ride shares). This does not apply to persons riding in a personal vehicle, engaging in appropriately distanced outdoor activity, or when such a covering causes a safety or health threat. It is important to remember that wearing a mask or face covering is NOT a substitute for maintaining 6-feet social distancing and hand washing. For more details, visit the Dallas County website.

The City of Garland’s ordinance regarding Shelter-in-Place is consistent with the most current Dallas County order, which is currently in effect until 11:59 p.m. April 30, 2020. See the latest orders and declarations from the State of Texas and Dallas County
