As of 2 p.m. April 10, the Garland Health Department (GHD) has received reports of 139 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Garland residents, as well as four deaths. So far, 36 Garland cases have recovered, meaning at least seven days have passed since symptom onset and the patient has been fever free with respiratory symptom improvement for 72 hours without medication. The City will update our posted case numbers each afternoon after 2 p.m. Check the Dallas County website for county-wide updates.
The City of Garland’s ordinance regarding Shelter-in-Place is consistent with the most current Dallas County order, which is currently in effect until 11:59 p.m. April 30, 2020.
