Texas residents know that spring means the beginning of severe weather season. Author Marlene Bradford will present information about severe weather, weather forecasting, and a history of tornadoes at the Nicholson Memorial Library’s upcoming Senior Social Hour.

Bradford is a graduate of Tennessee’s Union University and holds a master’s degree in history from Texas State University, as well as a Ph.D. in U.S. history from Texas A&M University. She is the author of Texas Tornadoes: The Lone Star State’s Deadliest Twisters and Arkansas Tornadoes: The Natural State’s Deadliest Twisters. In addition to teaching at the high school and college level, Ms. Bradford has spoken on this topic at the Allen Public Library.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Senior Social Hour programs are free and open to anyone 55 years of age and older. Donations of gently-used books and media for the Friends of the Library book sale will be accepted at the program. No registration is required to attend the event, but seats do fill up quickly.
