[ARCHIVED] Art Explorers: Kahlo-Inspired Self-Portraits

Colorful self portrait of a person in the style of Frida Kahlo

Attendees at the October event will learn about Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and the 55 self-portraits she created. Participants will also be instructed on how to draw their own self-portraits and will be encouraged to incorporate elements such as nature, animals, and their own unique personalities into their art. Once the drawings are complete, the artists will use color pastels to add the bold pops of color frequently seen in Mexican folk art.
